(Adnkronos) – Britain’s King Charles and Queen Camilla will attend a ceremony at Italy’s lower house of parliament on 9 April during a state visit to Italy, it has emerged after a conference parliamentary leaders.
Charles will address assembled lawmakers during the ceremony slated for 2.50 pm after remarks by Chamber of Deputies speaker Lorenzo Fontana and Senate speaker Ignazio La Russa.
During their state visit, Charles and Camilla will visit Rome and Ravenna. The 7-10 April visit was scheduled to include the Vatican and an audience with Pope Frances on 8 April, which has been postponed to give the pontiff more time to recover after he recently spent over five weeks in hospital battling double pneumonia, Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Wednesday.
