South Korea, ‘at least 27 dead and 32 injured in fires’

(Adnkronos) – The death toll from the wildfires that have devastated southeastern South Korea since last weekend has risen to 27, the South Korean Interior and Security Ministry said. 

“Twenty-seven people have died and 32 have been injured,” a statement said, making them the deadliest fires in South Korean history since forest services began collecting data in 1987.
