(Adnkronos) – Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, declined to answer a question about her possible involvement in the Signal group chat, an unsecured channel, where raid plans in Yemen were discussed.
“Senator, I don’t want to get into the merits,” Gabbard replied when Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Mark Warner asked her in a hearing if she was involved. And she added that she did not want to discuss the matter while it was under review by the National Security Council. “American lives could have been lost” due to the disclosure, Warner said.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe, meanwhile, admitted to being involved in the chat. But he said he did not make any statements that were not entirely lawful and legitimate and did not include classified information”.
