(Adnkronos) – Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, suspended from his duties and whose arrest was formally confirmed yesterday, has been officially designated as a candidate for the 2028 presidential elections by his party, the Chp. This was reported to Afp by a spokesperson for the Republican People’s Party, the main opposition force, which held its primaries yesterday. Imamoglu was the only candidate in the running.
