(Adnkronos) – An “extraordinary congress” on April 6. This was announced by the Chp, the main opposition party in Turkey, in the midst of political and street tensions following the arrest of the mayor of Istanbul and exponent of the political force, Ekrem Imamoglu. The decision was announced by Chp leader Ozgur Ozel, who justified it by saying he wanted to avoid the party being ‘placed under receivership’. The Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the last congress, that of November 2023, for alleged irregularities.
