USA, UNHCR announces ‘significant workforce cuts’

(Adnkronos) – The head of the UN Refugee Agency, Filippo Grandi, has informed staff that the organization is preparing for “significant” job cuts, mainly due to the freezing of foreign aid by the United States. 

“UNHCR will be present in fewer locations,” Grandi wrote in the message sent to all staff, warning that the changes “will inevitably lead to a significant reduction in our workforce.”
