(Adnkronos) – Beijing said it acted “in accordance with the law” the day after Ottawa announced the execution, in recent weeks, of four Canadian citizens in China.
“The fight against drug-related crime is a common responsibility of all countries. China is a country ruled by law. It treats defendants of all nationalities on an equal footing, handles cases rigorously and fairly, in accordance with the law,” Mao Ning, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, told reporters.
