(Adnkronos) – Legal documents relating to Prince Harry’s 2020 US visa application have been made public, but with many redactions. The judge who handled the case stated that it is not in the public interest to disclose information about the Duke of Sussex’s immigration status. The Heritage Foundation, an influential conservative think tank based in Washington, had filed a lawsuit to obtain the release of the documents. The aim was to understand if Harry, in his application, had lied in answering the question about drug use.
The judge justified his decision by arguing that Harry could be subject to “harm in the form of harassment” and “unwanted contact” from the media. Much of the text has been blacked out and many questions remain unanswered, particularly whether the prince admitted on his forms to taking drugs. One of the lawyers who pushed for the information to be released told Sky News they will continue to pursue the case and that there will be further proceedings in the near future.
