(Adnkronos) – “The greatest fear of the families, the hostages and the citizens of Israel has come true”. This is what the Forum of Families of Hostages and Missing Persons denounces after the resumption of Israeli raids in the Gaza Strip. The accusation against the Israeli government of Benjamin Netanyahu is that it “chose to abandon the hostages”.
“We are horrified, furious and frightened by the deliberate interruption of the process for the return of our cases from the terrible Hamas prison,” the statement continues, relaunched by the Israeli media.
Israel and Hamas “must return to the ceasefire”, say the relatives of the hostages held in the Gaza Strip since the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 and ask US President Donald Trump to continue working for the release of the hostages. According to the Forum, 59 people are still being held prisoner in the Strip, but only 24 are believed to be alive. “There will be neither security nor victory – they conclude – until the last hostage has returned home”.
