(Adnkronos) – Italy’s ambassador to the Holy See, Francesco Di Nitto on Thursday sent best wishes to Pope Francis to mark the 12th anniversary of his election as pontiff.
“Best wishes from Ambassador Di Nitto and all the staff of @ItalytoHolySee to the Holy Father @Pontifex_it on the 12th anniversary of his election to the Papal Throne,” the embassy wrote on X.
Francis spent a peaceful night at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, where he has been receiving treatment for pneumonia for nearly a month, the Vatican press office announced on Thursday morning.
On Wednesday evening, officials described his situation as “stable” within a “complex overall picture”.
