(Adnkronos) – ”The goal of the negotiation is to lift the sanctions”, but ”with this government, the US will not lift the sanctions” issued against Iran. This was stated by the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who today received a letter from US President Donald Trump with an invitation to negotiate on Tehran’s nuclear program. ”How can we negotiate if we know that the negotiations will not work”, added Khamenei.
Recalling that during his first term Trump withdrew from the Jcpoa (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), the Iranian leader said that the United States ”will tighten the noose of sanctions, increase pressure, negotiating with this American government will increase pressure”.
