(Adnkronos) – Italy intends to keep supporting Lebanon, Italy’s ambassador Fabrizio Marchelli pledged during talks in Beirut on Tuesday with health minister Haneeen Sayed and the head of Italy’s overseas aid agency (AICS) in the crisis-hit country.

“Today I met with Italy’s ambassador to Lebanon, Fabrizio Marchelli in the presence of AICS director in Lebanon, Alessandra Piermati,” Sayed wrote in a message on X (formerly Twitter), which the embassy re-tweeted.

“During the meeting, Marchelli expressed his country’s intention to continue supporting the (health) ministry through a number of existing and new programmes, including those targeting people with disabilities,” the message added.
