(Adnkronos) – Foreign minister Antonio Tajani has reiterated the government’s position that it will not deploy Italian troops to a European Union or Nato force in Ukraine, but does not rule out taking part in a United Nations peacekeeping force.
“Italy’s government has always said that we won’t send troops to Ukraine with European or Nato missions,” Tajani said in Brussels ahead of a European People’s Party meeting.
“If there is a UN mission (in Ukraine) that is another matter,” Tajani said.
