(Adnkronos) – The South Korean Air Force said one of its fighter jets accidentally dropped eight bombs in the wrong place during a training exercise, injuring civilians. “Eight MK-82 general purpose bombs were abnormally dropped from an Air Force KF-16 aircraft, falling outside the designated firing range,” the Air Force said.
The incident occurred around 10 a.m. local time in Pocheon, about 25 kilometers south of the heavily fortified border with the nuclear-armed North. “We deeply regret the unintentional release of the bombs, which caused civilian casualties, and we wish the injured a speedy recovery,” the Air Force said in a statement.
