(Adnkronos) – The Pkk “has no choice but to disband”. This is the message coming from the Ankara Ministry of Defense, as reported by the Turkish official agency Anadolu. “It is interesting to note that the organization has understood, albeit late, that it has reached the end of its life and has no choice but to disband”, said ministry spokesman Zeki Akturk.
The statements come almost a week after the ceasefire declared by the Pkk on March 1 after the appeal of Abdullah Ocalan, imprisoned since 1999 on the island of Imrali, according to which “all groups must lay down their arms” and “the Pkk must disband”.
