(Adnkronos) – Mexico intends to coordinate “with Canada and other countries” affected by the imposition of Donald Trump’s tariffs to respond jointly. This was stated by President Claudia Sheinbaum, reiterating that this “is a crucial moment for Mexico”.
“Mexico is a great country and our economy is doing well, but there will be no submission,” she said, criticizing the fact that there were positive comments on Trump’s move from some political and media sectors in the country. “This is unpatriotic,” she added during her daily press conference.
While continuing to say she is convinced that she can convince Trump to back down, Sheinbaum confirmed the appointment for Sunday for the public event, in the Plaza del Zocalo, during which the Mexican government is expected to announce the tariffs and other measures with which it intends to respond to Trump’s move.
