(Adnkronos) – Italy’s foreign minister Antonio Tajani will attend a G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in Charlevoix in Quebec province, Canada, from 12-14 March, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday.
The Charlevoix meeting will centre on the Middle East,on continuing support for Ukraine as Russia’s full-scale military invasion enters its fourth year, on Indo-Pacific stability, the ongoing crises in Haiti and Venezuela and peace and security challenges in Africa, according to Canada’s G7 presidency website.
Tajani will take part by video-link in the G7 leaders’ summit on 24 February, the date of a visit to Italy by United Arab Emirates president Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nayan, Italy’s premier Giorgia Meloni’s office said in a statement on Thursday.
Italy’s premier Giorgia Meloni is unable to take part in the G7 summit as she will be attending a lunch with Nayan, which will be followed by a Italy-UAE business forum, according to the statement.
