(Adnkronos) – France condemns “in the strongest possible terms” the increase in executions in Iran, 975 in 2024 as reported by a report, and calls on the Islamic Republic to stop, to “put an end” to the use of the death penalty. “These executions are a symbol of the relentless repression inflicted on all those who dare to express the legitimate aspirations for freedom of the Iranian people,” a French diplomatic spokesman said, reiterating France’s opposition “to the death penalty everywhere and in all circumstances”.
