(Adnkronos) – A conference in Miami hosted by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund and new executive orders. These are the two ‘appointments’ that will mark today’s day for US President Donald Trump. In the aftermath of talks in the Saudi capital Riyadh between delegations from the United States and Russia, Trump is expected to speak at an event in Miami with major investors hosted by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund. The signing of new executive orders is then expected upon returning to Washington.
The program released by the ‘Fii Priority Miami 2025’ summit provides for a “special” speech by Trump from 5 to 6 pm local time. The President, the Washington Post points out, is trying to attract more Saudi investment and at the same time trying to manage the fallout from his idea for the future of the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. The Gulf monarchy has joined the chorus of condemnation following the proposal to remove the inhabitants of the Palestinian enclave from their land and is preparing to host a summit of Arab leaders for alternative ‘ideas’ to Trump’s Middle East ‘Riviera’.
The tycoon has invited Riyadh to increase investments in the US up to a trillion dollars. Saudi Arabia was the destination of Trump’s first trip abroad during his first term. And the President, as soon as he returned to the White House, did not rule out returning to Riyadh as the first stop on his ‘new’ first trip abroad. The Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, is an ‘old’ ally of Trump.
