(Adnkronos) – Since the end of the traffic light coalition – in government in Germany until last November 6 – the German environmentalist party has recorded a boom in membership. “Our party now has a total of over 168,000 members. This means that the Greens are more numerous than ever”, said manager Pegah Edalatian to the Dpa news agency. According to the party, the Greens currently have a total of 168,817 members, and 42,425 people have applied to join since the end of the coalition, made up of Social Democrats, Liberals, and Greens. Several weeks can pass between the membership application and its formalization.
