(Adnkronos) – Tens of thousands of Palestinians have fled refugee camps in the West Bank, where the IDF has launched a military operation aimed at “eradicating terrorism” supported by Iran. This is reported by the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), according to which about 17,000 people have left the Jenin refugee camp, now almost completely deserted, while six thousand people have left Nur Shams, about two thirds of the total, and another 10,000 from the Tulkarem camp. “Those who remained are trapped,” said Nihad al-Shawish, head of the Nur Shams camp services committee. “Civil Defense, the Red Crescent and Palestinian security forces brought them food yesterday, but the army is still bulldozing and destroying the camp,” he added.
Since Operation ‘Iron Wall’ was launched on January 21 in the Jenin refugee camp, homes and vital infrastructure have been destroyed, the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) said. The IDF said they demolished homes and bulldozed roads to remove improvised explosive devices. “We don’t know what is happening in the camp, but there are continuous demolitions and roads being dug up,” says Mohammed al-Sabbagh, head of the Jenin camp services committee.
