(Adnkronos) – For the first time, a delegation from the Taliban government will visit Japan. Local media report that the delegation, which begins a week-long mission today, includes representatives from the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Education.
“We seek to interact with the world for a strong, united, advanced, prosperous and developed Afghanistan, and to be an active member of the international community,” commented on social media X the Afghan Deputy Minister of Economy, Latif Nazari, who is part of the delegation.
Japanese public broadcaster NHK, citing Afghan diplomatic sources, said Afghan officials will have “an exchange of views with Japanese government officials during their visit”. Contacted by AFP, the Japanese Foreign Ministry did not comment.
