USA, Trump Signs Executive Order Giving Doge Even More Power

12 Febbraio 2025

(Adnkronos) – Donald Trump has signed an executive order that gives Elon Musk’s Doge even more power than the department has already amassed in its first three weeks in government, asking federal agencies to work together to voluntarily downsize their staffs and limit future hiring. The executive order mandates the appointment of a “Doge Team Lead” in every agency who will be responsible for all hiring decisions. Once the hiring freeze is lifted, agency directors will not be able to hire more than one person for every four who leave their jobs. The only exceptions are personnel engaged in public safety, immigration enforcement or security. They must also “promptly initiate preparations to initiate large-scale workforce reductions, consistent with current law.” There are currently 2.3 million federal government employees.
