(Adnkronos) – The foreign ministry and public broadcaster Rai were set to present on Wednesday the ‘Sanremo Youth World Tour ‘ a spinoff of the iconic annual festival, which aims to showcase young talent from Italian music worldwide.
The tour will take the four finalists from Sanremo Youth 2025, Alex Wyse, Maria Tomba, Settembre, Vale LP and Lil Jolie, to Montreal, Toronto, Miami, New York and Chicago in the first half of May, according to a foreign ministry statement.
The ‘Sanremo Youth World Tour’ will tie in with local cultural initiatives at prestigious theatre venues and through the involvement of radio and music media, according to the statement.
“Since 2019, the tour has successfully promoted emerging artists from the Italian music scene, bringing them to perform on stages around the world with wide participation and strong audience involvement,” said the statement.
The tour is part of a raft of cultural diplomacy initiatives being rolled out by the government to boost global appreciation of Italian culture, a sector worth around 600 billion euros per year to the economy, the statement said.
