(Adnkronos) – Tragedy in South Korea. A teacher stabbed an eight-year-old student, who later died from her injuries. It happened in an elementary school in Daejeon, 160 kilometers south of Seoul, as the South Korean agency Yonhap reports. According to the reconstruction, around 6 pm local time, the police found the 40-year-old teacher and the little student with stab wounds on the second floor of the institute after the girl’s parents reported her missing at the end of after-school activities.
The little girl, unconscious, was immediately transported to the hospital, but died shortly after. The teacher was found with wounds to her neck and an arm. She was operated on. The police reported that the teacher confessed and investigators have concluded that the woman may have self-inflicted the wounds. Agents, Yonhap writes, have discovered that the teacher had suffered from depression and had been on leave, before returning to class at the end of last year.
