(Adnkronos) – 51% of Germans do not consider it possible – under any circumstances – that the leader of the CDU Friedrich Merz will form a government with the AfD after the elections on February 23. 41% do. This is what emerges from a Forsa poll for Rtl/ntv. Only among CDU/CSU supporters there is a clear majority of 80% who believe that Merz would never form a coalition with the AfD, even if “after the vote it becomes difficult to form a government with the Greens, SPD or FDP”. Among FDP supporters, the percentage is still 67%, while it is lower for voters of other parties: 49% SPD, 40% AfD, 39% Greens, 32% Bsw, 29% Linke.
The same poll shows that 59% of Germans think that Friedrich Merz’s choice to collaborate with the AfD in the Bundestag on the issue of immigration was wrong. 36% believe the opposite. To the question: ‘Did Friedrich Merz do well to collaborate with the AfD to obtain a majority in the Bundestag in favor of his motion on refugee policy?’, 60% of Union supporters answered ‘yes’ (34% no), 11% of those of the SPD (88% no), 4% of those of the Greens (94% no), 63% of those of the FDP (30% no), 3% of those of the Left (92% no) 60% of those of the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (36% no).
