(Adnkronos) – For China, the hypothesis of a virus leak from a laboratory to explain the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic remains “extremely unlikely.” “The scientific conclusion reached by a group of experts from China and the World Health Organization (WHO), based on field visits to the relevant laboratories in Wuhan, is that a lab leak is extremely unlikely,” said Mao Ning, a spokeswoman for the Beijing Foreign Ministry, after the CIA concluded that a leak from a Chinese laboratory was “likely” the origin of the pandemic.
“The CIA assesses with low confidence that a Covid-19 pandemic origin related to research is more likely than a natural origin,” an Agency spokesperson said in a statement Saturday.
