(Adnkronos) – Mexico closed 2024 with a total of 30,057 intentional homicides, an increase of 1.2% compared to the previous year: 344 more cases than the 29,713 recorded in 2023, reports the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), quoted by the Ground News website.
Official data reveals that June stood out as the most violent month, with 2,680 homicides, exceeding the 2,545 recorded in the same month in 2023. This figure contrasts with the last month of the year, which recorded the lowest number of homicides, with 2,257.
The report also reveals that the State of Guanajuato is once again at the top of the intentional homicide list, reaching 3,151 cases in 2024, an increase of 1.5% compared to the 3,104 recorded the previous year.
