(Adnkronos) – South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is facing impeachment charges, was arrested and questioned about his declaration of martial law last month. Investigators said the head of state “is exercising his right not to answer”.
In a video message to the nation before his arrest, Yoon said he had agreed to appear before the Corruption Investigation Office (Cio) for questioning. “I have decided to appear before the Cio even though it is an illegal investigation, to avoid any bloodshed,” the South Korean president said.
