Death toll from California wildfires rises to 24, weather conditions worsen

13 Gennaio 2025

(Adnkronos) – The death toll from the California wildfires has risen to 24. The figure was provided by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, while winds are expected to increase in the region today. A persistent and violent Santa Ana wind event is underway across Southern California, with warnings in effect through Wednesday. The alert also concerns the Palisades, Hurst and Eaton fires.

The winds will be coupled with very dry air and drought conditions. There is a possibility that the forecast center will issue “extremely critical” fire weather conditions, the highest level, for parts of Ventura County tomorrow.
