India: New Delhi shrouded in fog and smog, transport chaos

(Adnkronos) – Fog combined with the problem of poor air quality is causing chaos in New Delhi. Zero visibility in the early hours of today in several areas with inconvenience for those traveling and repercussions on flights, trains and road transport. According to reports from the BBC, there are delays for more than 150 air connections and dozens of trains. 

The air quality index in several areas of Delhi has exceeded 400, according to the Safar system run by the Indian government. A figure that, highlights the British network, exceeds the limit set by the World Health Organization by more than 25 times. And in the Indian capital, some of the measures designed to improve air quality have returned, from the ban on construction and demolition work to the possibility of distance learning.
