(Adnkronos) – Italy’s premier Giorgia Meloni is set to hold talks in Rome on Friday with the European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas following a meeting of ‘Quin’t foreign ministers on Thursday that will focus on Syria and which Kallas is attending.
Meloni’s talks with Kallas are slated for 12.40 at the prime minister’s office, according to a schedule of Meloni’s upcoming appointments.
At the ‘Quint’ meeting late Thursday, the foreign ministes of Italy, the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and France will look at the situation in Syria a month after its 13-year civil war led to long-time dictator Bashar al-Assad’s ousting and the end of his family’s 50-year rule.
The ‘Quint ‘ talks will cover Syria’s transitional government, a planned national dialogue conference, the drafting of a new constitution, an inclusive Syrian political process, and the war-ravaged country’s economic recovery, according to a foreign ministry statement.
