China, 5.5 magnitude earthquake in the northwest

(Adnkronos) – A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck areas of Qinghai province in northwest China. This was reported by the Chinese official agency Xinhua. According to data from the China Earthquake Networks Center (Cenc), the epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred around 3:40 pm local time, was recorded in Madoi County, in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Golog, at a depth of 14 kilometers. The news comes after that of the 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Tibet, which, according to the official toll, caused at least 126 deaths.
