Hostages’ families turn to the High Court, ‘constitutional laws violated’

7 Gennaio 2025

(Adnkronos) – A group of 112 family members of hostages held in Gaza filed a petition with the Israeli High Court, accusing the government of abandoning their loved ones, violating two constitutional laws. According to the petition, “the government has abandoned the hostages for 459 days, violating their constitutional rights to life, physical integrity and human dignity”.

The plaintiffs are seeking a provisional and conditional order requiring the State to justify “why it refuses to accept an agreement for the release of the hostages held in Gaza by Hamas, in violation of their constitutional rights, and why the government should not be compelled to secure their release, also by agreeing to end the war and withdraw from Gaza in exchange for their freedom”.
