Damascus airport reopened, first plane from Qatar landed after 13 years

(Adnkronos) – The Damascus airport, in Syria, has been reopened, returning to being operational after the closure following the overthrow of Bashar Assad by the Syrian rebels. The first flight from Qatar, after 13 years of interrupted connections, landed at the international airport of the Syrian capital. The airport was closed on December 8, the day of the fall of Damascus and the escape of the deposed president.
