(Adnkronos) – The leader of the Lebanese Shiite party-militia Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, has assured that since November 27 – the date on which the ceasefire with Israel in Lebanon came into force – the group “has regained health”, becoming stronger.
“The resistance continues and has regained health. It has a deeply rooted faith”, Qassem said in a televised speech, in which he said he was convinced that Hezbollah supporters can “become stronger in the future”, especially after Israel is “unmasked before the country and the world as a brutal and criminal entity, with criminal American support”. Regarding the ceasefire, he assured that the group “has begun to implement it”, even if it is “the Lebanese state that is responsible for monitoring and maintaining it” until Israeli troops leave the territory. Therefore, he called this “an opportunity for the Lebanese state to demonstrate its worth through political action”.
Qassem reiterated that he is ready to work with partners in the country to elect a president, a position that has been blocked for more than two years in the midst of a serious political crisis, and to “rebuild what has been destroyed”, with the aim of “setting in motion the gears of the state according to its laws, and initiating a series of reforms”. “We must evaluate the events that occurred in this war of aggression, take advantage of its results and develop our actions with the lessons learned,” he added, describing the resistance of the militias in support of the Gaza Strip as “legendary”.
