(Adnkronos) – “We are very, very close” to an agreement on the release of the hostages and on a ceasefire in Gaza, but because of the “obstacles” posed by Hamas, the finish line has not yet been reached. This was stated by the spokesman for the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, during a press briefing.
Specifying that he had no updates on the ongoing talks, Kirby insisted that Hamas remains the main cause of the failure to reach a definitive agreement. “It is because of the obstacles Hamas is putting up or its refusal to budge on any of these details that we have not yet reached a conclusion,” Kirby said.
