Iraq, repatriations begin for Assad’s soldiers who fled rebel offensive

(Adnkronos) – Iraq has announced the start of repatriations for Syrian troops who fled the lightning offensive that led to the fall of President Bashar al-Assad. 

“Today, the Iraqi authorities will begin repatriating Syrian soldiers to their country after coordinating with the competent Syrian authorities,” Interior Ministry spokesman Miqdad Miri said.
