(Adnkronos) – The 27-nation European Union must focus on its “mission” or risk becoming irrelevant in the face of the “complex challenges” facing the world, Italy’s premier Giorgia Meloni said on Tuesday.
“Now more than ever, with the complex challenges facing us and the danger that the UE gets marginalised and made irrelevant, we need to focus our attention on its mission,” Meloni told lawmakers ahead of a European leaders’ summit on Thursday.
“Our starting-point should be the profound reasons that bind us,” Meloni said.
