(Adnkronos) – Italy’s foreign minister and deputy premier Antonio Tajani tweeted birthday good wishes to Pope Francis, who turned 88 on Tuesday, praising the pontiff for his exemplary leadership and behaviour.
“Happy Birthday Holy Father. Your guidance and example are a beacon for us all,” read the tweet.
Francesco, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio on 17 December 1936, was inaugurated as Pope on 19 March 2013. He is the first head of the Catholic Church from Latin America and the first from the Jesuit order.
