(Adnkronos) – The Autonomous Administration of northeastern Syria, with a Kurdish majority, has announced that it will adopt the three-star independence flag used by the rebels who overthrew Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
The Kurdish authority said in a statement that it had “decided to raise the flag of Syrian independence on all councils, institutions, administrations and structures affiliated with the Autonomous Administration”, describing the flag as a “symbol of this new phase, as it expresses the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom, dignity and national unity”.
