(Adnkronos) – 26-year-old Luigi Mangione has been indicted on charges of second-degree murder. He was arrested yesterday in Pennsylvania on suspicion of being the killer who shot and killed the CEO of UnitedHealthcare’s executive branch in New York last week. According to documents filed in New York Criminal Court, Mangione is charged with five counts, including gun possession and forgery.
Mangione was arrested yesterday – after a manhunt that began last Wednesday following the murder of 50-year-old Brian Thompson in front of a Manhattan hotel where he was scheduled to attend a group meeting – after an employee at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, recognized him and called 911. According to police, the young man “began to tremble” when police asked him if he had been to New York recently.
