South Korea, Parliament votes to repeal martial law

(Adnkronos) – During an overnight session of the National Assembly, a resolution was adopted calling for the repeal of martial law declared in South Korea. The New York Times reports, stating that the rules governing martial law state that if the Assembly requests its termination, the president must revoke it “without delay.” The resolution was adopted with the favorable votes of all 190 deputies present at the time of the vote, out of a total of 300.
