(Adnkronos) – The Instagram page of the German Christian Social Union (CSU) was hacked, posting a series of pro-Palestinian content, including an image with the slogan “Free Palestine” over a clenched fist. Another story showed a young boy balancing on a large sphere holding the Palestinian flag amidst the rubble, with menacing black birds flying over him.
The website of the Bavarian branch of the CDU was temporarily hacked – a spokesperson for the parliamentary group confirmed to dpa – but the posts have now been removed and control of the site has been restored. The last posts published on the CSU’s Instagram page before the hack included images of MP Alexander Dobrindt’s visit to Israel, including one showing him shaking hands with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with their respective national flags in the background.
