Ukraine, Moscow confirms detention of British fighter

(Adnkronos) – A Russian court has confirmed that it has remanded in custody a British man accused of fighting for the Ukrainian army in the Russian region of Kursk, where Kiev launched an offensive in August. 

Yesterday, a court in Kursk heard the case behind closed doors and decided to jail James Anderson, who, according to press reports, “illegally crossed” the Russian border to take part “in hostilities” in the area. London has pledged to provide “support” to the British citizen.
