(Adnkronos) – The German government does not guarantee the arrest of Benjamin Netanyahu if the Israeli Premier arrives in Germany after the International Criminal Court, to which Germany adheres, yesterday issued an arrest warrant against him. The government is carefully examining “the internal steps” that will be taken following the court’s order, said spokesman Steffen Hebestreit. A decision will be made in the event that Netanyahu, or former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, plan to visit Germany. However, Hebestreit pointed out that Germany is one of the biggest supporters of the ICC, but admitted that Berlin shares “unique relations and a great responsibility towards Israel”.
