(Adnkronos) – Three Palestinians have been indicted for plotting to kill far-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir, Israeli police and the Shin Bet announced in a joint statement.

The cell, made up of residents of Hebron in the West Bank, was headed by Ismail Ibrahim Awadi, who contacted Hezbollah and Hamas in July 2024 to try to obtain weapons and support in order to carry out a series of attacks.

The cell conducted surveillance on Ben Gvir and his children, who live in the nearby settlement of Kiryat Arba. The idea was to kill Ben Gvir when he arrived at the scene of a terrorist attack. Following the investigation, “serious” charges were brought against the suspects in a military court, the Times of Israel reports.
