Trump nominates ‘patriot’ Whitaker to NATO, ‘will put America first’

(Adnkronos) – Donald Trump has nominated Matt Whitaker, who served as acting attorney general for a few months during his first administration, as ambassador to NATO. “Matt is a strong warrior and a loyal patriot, who will ensure that US interests are advanced and defended,” the president-elect said in a statement. “He will strengthen relationships with our NATO allies and stand firm in the face of threats to peace and stability: he will put America first,” he concluded, using the phrase “America first” in all caps.
