(Adnkronos) – President-elect Donald Trump has appointed North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum as Secretary of the Interior. A former Republican presidential primary candidate, Burgum became an energy policy advisor to Trump, connecting his campaign with Big Oil CEOs, with whom the 68-year-old Burgum has long-standing ties. At the Interior Department, he is expected to implement the new administration’s plans to resume oil and gas drilling in federal waters and lands.
