Papua New Guinea, earthquake of magnitude 6.6 on the Richter scale off the east coast

(Adnkronos) – An earthquake of magnitude 6.6 on the Richter scale was recorded today off the eastern coast of Papua New Guinea. The US Geological Survey, Usgs, reports this, specifying that the epicenter of the earthquake was recorded about 123 kilometers from the nearest town, Kokopo, in the province of East New Britain, with a hypocenter at a depth of 51 kilometers.
